Education

Senior Political Science and other major at South Carolina State University

Experience

How are you doing today? My name is Anthony Brooking and I am a Senior Political Science major, Business Administration minor. I do not have any direct tutoring experience, but I have completed multiple university sanctioned teaching courses, and I previously mentored the youth of Orangeburg, SC at Project Life Positeen; an organization that gives young children a place to go after school and complete their homework while simultaneously teaching them manners and respect. My SAT score is an 1100, and my cumulative GPA is a 3.378. Others might consider that GPA excellent, by I consider anything other than a 4.0 (or higher) to be a failure. I would like to be a tutor because I believe that the key to a solid and productive future is through learning: textbooks, leisure literature, newspapers, anything positive that stimulates intellectual thought. Another one of my beliefs is that children are the future to a brighter United States of America and I am extremely baffled about the lack of importance society stresses on education. I would be enamored to teach and tutor local youth (and adult) on the ways to develop positive thought and intellect. Classes that I am currently taking are: Elementary French, Principles of Management, Introduction to Political Science, American Judicial Process, American Civil Liberties, and Contemporary Political Theory. I just recently changed my major from Sports Communication because with my decision to attend Law School I thought it would be beneficial to study Pre-Law for my undergraduate degree. I am associated with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and SAAB (Student African American Brotherhood), as well as being highly involved in on campus activities. In addition, I am a writer for the school newspaper, The Collegian.
